WHO WE ARE AND OUR MISSION

Step In is an organization based in Laurel, Montana that was formed after we lost a young middle school student, Sam, to suicide in November of 2015.  The organization is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run completely by volunteers.  The board is comprised of school district administration and staff, area clergy, parents, students, and Sam’s family.  We’re here to connect youth, family, and friends in our community to resources that help combat suicide through prevention and awareness of mental illness.

OUR VISION

Recognizing that 90% of suicides are influenced by or result from mental illness, we will help parents, educators and youth in our community recognize the signs and symptoms of mental illness, provide support and resources to those in need, and improve lives of youth in our community as we reduce — and ultimately eliminate — teen suicide.

OUR PRINCIPLES
